There’s clearly something going on here. We all like a bit of privacy but this homeowner in Glossop likes it more than most. The property is bordered to the street by one of those tall municipal concrete post and chain link fences from the fifties, topped with barbed wire. Behind this is a more recent and quite sturdy wooden post and panel fences which obscures any view. Yet for some reason, random fence panels and sheets of chipboard, ply and even more netting have since been added between these to double the height, and tied to one another by those plastic cable grips. There are six different panels in this shot alone, along with extra sheeting, seemingly scrounged from nearby DIY store skips. Clearly these would present quite an obstacle for any intruder, although the property itself at the end of the garden was actually open to the street, so that’s not the reason for it all. The strange thing is that it all simply adds to the curiosity of the passer by, especially if you were seeing it for the first time as I was.
