Lemfizz-cubes Carters Sheffield 1960s

A new print celebrating a sweet you’ve probably never heard of. Sherbet cubes from the mid-sixties, made by an industrial chemist in Sheffield and guzzled by local kids for a generation. It’s incredible what memories small objects like this can bring back.  But the question of which kid it was who could resist opening the gaily coloured wax wrapper back in 1965 and leave it uneaten for fifty years must remain a mystery. You can read more about the product and see the wrappers (and even a shop counter box lid) under the Packaging menu, as well as a link to the Easy shop where copies of the limited edition print can be bought.
