Let’s Eat

Sheffield Council royally screwed up recently with a hair-brained scheme to install semi permanent containers in the city centre to house market traders. Without checking if power and services would be available; they weren’t. “It was not our finest hour” they have admitted, once people found how much the cock up was costing us all, which considering this is the same council who thought arresting people for trying to save trees across the city was a good look, is saying something.

So it was nice to see an example of private enterprise here just quietly getting on with things and doing it properly. This is a smart little take-way housed in a container, tucked at the edge of the street on a small industrial estate. Given it is off the beaten track it serves just the small and medium businesses in the immediate area and I only came across it as I like pottering around these obscure parts of the city. To brighten the cafe up, this one-off life size Marge Simpson decorates the inside of the entrance, and adds a real splash of colour.
