Comsat Angels

Comsat Angels Sheffield rock band

I photographed The Comsat Angels a number of times live and off-stage from 1981 until their split in the late 1990s. This image was taken in 1994 during work on their last studio album The Glamour. It shows (l-r) Terry Todd (bass), Steve Fellows (guitar / vocals), Simon Anderson (guitar), Mik Glaisher (drums), Andy Peake (keyboards).

The photo above was taken in the band’s rehearsal room on Mary Street in Sheffield in 1995. The photo below was the final photo shoot for the original line-up. Bassist Kevin Bacon, lurking at the back, decided to retire from touring just after the group had finished their My Mind’s Eye album, hence the recruitment of the two new players. Sheffield folk may like to know that this image was taken on the site later occupied by the infamous Centre For Popular Music (now the Hallam University Union building).
