Detached House and Garage

Old toy catalogues are a fascinating glimpse into the past and as a child I used to sit for hours looking through these. Mass produced to give away, the print quality was often low. Enlarging this example of a 1950s building toy from a catalogue produced interesting colour overlaps, and by working on the separate colours and then bringing the layers back together, I was trying to both highlight and echo the imagery of Sixty years ago. And the relative simplicity of buying a house at a time when towns were expanding rapidly. This limited edition print can be purchased through the easy on the eye online shop.
