Photo corners

Such a humble item. I got through so many packets of Boots The Chemists own brand photo corner in the 1970s, especially when they started selling them as self adhesive rolls which did make life a lot easier. But their dull green boxes are unlikely to ever attract much attention from ephemera collectors. This nice packet is a different matter; it must date from the 1940s judging from the typography – Gill was very popular at the time – and the one piece bathing beauty (who looks rather like Mr. Hiddlestone!) snapped for the front.  “66 approx” – did someone roughly count them out by hand? “Strong, adhesive, decorative” give the big sell!  My thanks to David and Jean who passed it on to me.  I’ve got some more somewhere, I will try and dig them out.
