Made by Atkins of Hinckley, a firm with something like 250 years of manufacturing history behind them when these Lucky Charm ‘show-offs’ were sold in the late 1960s or very early 70s. Most stockings and tights were sold in a standard size packet and still are. And this particular brand of tights were sold in regular packets normally, but for some reason they were also sold in these triangular glossy-card boxes for a time. Only four inches high, threaded with string, the box had the same photo on two sides and text on the third – with a small circular viewing hole at one end so you could check the colour. Neat!
