Easy Listening Album Art

This exhibition ran at the Blackpool Art Gallery.  It comprised a selection of the most typical and visually interesting easy listening album sleeves from the 1950s to the 1970s, grouped into different musical categories. Each sleeve was framed, with detailed captions. The gallery also had a number of cabinets, housing related artifacts and paper ephemera.
For the grand opening, a local theatre organist was on hand to perform a medley of easy listening instrumental tracks and people were invited to wear clothes of the period.
The exhibition was organised under the Easy On The Eye name by Vince Kelly, Simon Robinson, Aileen Collis and Ann Warburton. It was reviewed in the local press and also got excellent feedback from visitors, surprised to see visual material like this accorded gallery status but pleased to see material many older visitors were very familiar with.
