  1. I was there and I have to say Lynyrd Skynyrd were by far the better band on the night.if I remember rightly Golden Earrings Drummer used to jump over his drums during his solos but on this particular night went straight through them.

    • I only went for Earring but I think I was in a clear minority, and did enjoy much of the Skynyrd set. I’d forgotten about the drummers escapade but seem to recall seeing it on film once. Funny lot drummers, I saw Cozy Powell with a massive kit which rose up during his solo with all explosions in time to the 1812 overture. Happy days!

      • I was at an earlier concert of Golden Earring year before they were excellent.and the drummer made it over the drums.Support was from Ducks Deluxe which went on to become the Motors another great band.
