Priory Tea

Brooke Bond Priory Tea packet

A sixties design solution to the humble quarter pound tea packet. Stripped of almost all decoration (save for the stylised tea leaf itself) and looking more akin the the basics ranges so beloved of supermarkets these days. Even the tea card had been banished, instead an offer on the back for cheap nylons. This still had all the tea left inside; do you keep it or empty it? There is a slightlier earlier packet design for Horniman’s Tea on the site, showing the much more elaborate style of packaging which was used in the Fifties.
