Nurserymen

This fascinating site has been used by any number of different retail outlets over the last few years. The yard was an antique dealers, the shop has been restaurants of various styles. It seems to be going through more changes and a bland new shop window and door was rammed in recently. In doing so they uncovered a much earlier hand painted shop sign, for a Nurserymen & Growers. I love the way this sign has outlived many more recently plastic ones round about. So far they have left this in situ, although the fragility of such bits of street furniture means it could end up in a skip any time. Let’s hope the owners manage to hang on to it.
